Hi, I’m Meshelle McNair — Founder of Nexus Management Solutions.
My Story…
I’ve always been that systems-and-structure girl. As a kid, I didn’t grow up around entrepreneurs. I didn’t have mentors, a playbook, or anyone showing me what business ownership looked like. But I always dreamed of building something of my own.
A spark lit up in me when an interior designer spoke during career day. Something in me said, “That’s it. That’s me.” From that day, I knew what I wanted to be. I loved drawing, art, problem-solving, and studying beautifully organized spaces. I pursued my first love, earned my degree in interior design, and stepped into a career that blended creativity with structure.
After years of learning and designing for others, I stepped out on faith and launched my own interior design firm in 2005, which started my entrepreneurial journey. It quickly became my pride and joy. I had clients, projects, and a showroom. Life was good.
Then the 2008 housing market crashed. My phone stopped ringing. Projects disappeared. Eventually, I had to pack it all in; my business collapsed, my savings drained, and I lost it all.
I realized I was building on passion but not a solid foundation.
No roadmap. No structure. Just hustle, prayers, and sticky notes.
In that season, I learned something powerful.
Talent isn’t enough. Passion isn’t enough. Hard work isn’t enough.
Without structure, systems, and strategy, a business can’t survive success or setbacks.
What felt like failure became my turning point. I went back to school, earned my master’s in organizational leadership, and spent the next seven years working in leadership, operations, systems building, training and development, and organizational improvement.
I discovered that designing processes is like designing spaces. Both require intention, balance, and flow. The skills that shaped my past also shaped what I was called to do next.
And this transformation became my purpose.
Today, I help women-led and minority-owned businesses move from chaos to clarity by empowering them with the tools and systems needed for sustainable growth. I am dedicated to teaching businesses how to build the structure, systems, and confidence to grow with intention and lead with clarity.
